ABI Bank Login – Bank Closed, Accounts Transferred to ECAB

Important Notice: ABI Bank Ltd (Antigua Barbuda Investment Bank) ceased operations in November 2015. If you were an ABI Bank customer, your account has been transferred to Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB).

What Happened to ABI Bank?

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) assumed control of ABI Bank in July 2011 after the bank experienced liquidity difficulties and could not meet statutory reserve requirements. In November 2015, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda reached an agreement to transfer approximately 95% of ABI Bank’s operations to ECAB.

All deposits up to $500,000 per person were automatically transferred to ECAB. Customers with deposits exceeding $500,000 were handled through the Depositor Protection Trust (DPT), with over $110 million paid to beneficiaries.
