On June 11, 2024, Access Bank Plc of Nigeria announced the successful completion of its acquisition of African Banking Corporation Tanzania Limited (BancABC Tanzania). The acquisition combined:

- Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania: Consumer, private, and business banking operations
The combined entity now operates as Access Bank Tanzania, offering expanded services to customers across the country.
