Alpha Bank Serbia No Longer Exists
Alpha Bank Serbia was acquired by AIK Banka in April 2017 and fully merged in December 2017. The bank’s operations, customers, and digital services have been transferred to AIK Banka.
What Happened
Alpha Bank Serbia (formerly Jubanka) was the fifth-largest bank in Serbia as of 2005. Greek Alpha Bank acquired an 88.64% stake in January 2005 and renamed it Alpha Bank Beograd (later Alpha Bank Srbija).
In April 2017, AIK Banka (majority owned by MK Group) purchased 100% of shares. The merger process was completed on December 22, 2017, and the bank reverted to its former name Jubanka before being fully absorbed into AIK Banka. Since December 25, 2017, all operations continue under the AIK Banka name.
