Banca Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze (CR Firenze), founded in 1829, was absorbed into Intesa Sanpaolo on February 25, 2019. After 190 years of independent operation as Florence’s historic savings bank, CR Firenze was removed from Italy’s Bank Register (Albo delle Banche) on February 24, 2019.

Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze
The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze remains active as a charitable foundation and Intesa Sanpaolo shareholder (1.79%). In 2026, the foundation announced plans to increase disbursements by 20%, reaching €47.5 million for the territories of Florence, Arezzo, and Grosseto.
