Banca delle Marche was one of four Italian banks resolved on November 22, 2015 by the Bank of Italy under the European Union’s Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD). The four banks (Banca Marche, Banca Etruria, Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara, and Cassa di Risparmio di Chieti) had a combined market share of approximately 1% of system-wide deposits.

- November 22, 2015: Bank split into “good bank” (Nuova Banca delle Marche) and “bad bank” (REV – Gestione Crediti)
- Provisional capital: €1.041 billion

UBI Banca Acquisition (2017)
On January 12, 2017, UBI Banca submitted a binding bid of €1 to acquire Nuova Banca delle Marche along with two other resolved banks. The transaction was accepted on January 18, 2017.
