In 2009, the World Air Transportation Awards gave the Asiaa its “Airline of the Year” Award, which is highly prestigious and is among the highest accolades given by the aviation industry. Asiana Airlines Asiana Airlines Club rewards program gives its members flying on that airline and their partners the ability to earn points/miles which can be redeemed for many things including award flights, cabin upgrades, hotel bookings, and even car rentals. Points can also be accrued through Asiana Club rewards programs non-flight partners, including car rentals, hotels, and credit card companies. Unlike many of the other airlines rewards programs, this one offers a variety of different ways to accrue points.
Asiana Club members will be able to use points that they accrue to redeem upgrades when booking flights. Partnered means you will be able to use your Asiana Club miles not just for booking flights with Asiana, but also on any of its eligible partner flights via the Asiana website. One sweet spot in the partner miles redeeming options on Asiana Airlines includes economy seats at only 40,000 Asiaa Club miles to any of the Star Alliance partners on flights from the United States to Europe. A business class flight with United Airlines starting in Houston (IAH) and ending in Amsterdam (AMS) will only cost 40,000 Asiaa Club miles – that is 20,000 miles cheaper than booking that same flight on United.
Miles are earned from flying an Asiana Airlines or partner airline flight, spending on an Asiana Airlines credit card or Flexible Points Program, or spending with one of the airlines travel partners. Asiana miles are good for 10-12 years depending on the level of elite status you were at the time of earning or flying. Refer to the published award charts from Asiana to find out how many miles you will need to reclaim to fly. If you are trying to pick an airlines rewards program and are worried about the award expiration policies, you can see how Asiana Airlines mileage expiration policies compare with those of other popular companies in the chart below.
This table shows you the partner airlines that are available for booking online, as well as the ones that charge a fuel surcharge. Due to quickly changing airline prices & availability, these rates may not be available anymore.

Miles accrued at the Asiana Club are eligible for members to earn award tickets, class upgrades, and other products and services, such as Dining at Outback Steakhouse. Additional benefits and perks include 10% mileage bonuses, access to the lounge, a coupon that can be used to redeem a 10,000-mile discount on flight awards or 50% off award upgrades on flights operated by Asiana Airlines, and the ability to transfer miles between family members as long as said party is a Diamond or higher-level member. Other expenses which could be responsibly charged on a credit card would add an additional $16,101 to the annual expenses, and earn 16,101 miles for Asiana Club, totaling 38,114 miles earned annually from Asiana Airlines, on top of the Welcome Bonus. Asiana Club miles are eligible for accrual on all flights operated by Star Alliance member airlines, plus Air Astana, Etihad, and Qatar Airways.
Asiana Airlines will provide full reimbursement for the ticket price if your reservation is made one week or more before your departure date for an Asiana Airlines flight. The airline has its global headquarters in Seoul in Asiaa Town (asianataun) at Osoe-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Asiana Cargo, the airlines freight division, also has extensive networks, particularly in Europe, Asia, and the United States. It also provides international cargo services, with Asiaa Cargo, the airlines cargo unit, serving 29 cities across 14 countries via 28 routes.
Asiana decided to start Air Seoul, the airlines second affiliate and a lower-cost carrier in its own right, based at Incheon International Airport, and transferred some of its non-profit routes to Air Seoul starting November 2016. Korean Air, purchased from Hanjin Transportation in 1969, had held a monopoly over South Koreas airline industry prior to the 1988 founding of Asiana. Asiana was established on February 17, 1988, and began operations in December 1988, with flights to the Busan Metropolitan. After hundreds of thousands of miles flown by Asiana, it has fallen into the category of a roughly 2-star airline, but at still more expensive prices.
