End user is the customer of Licensee, and is intended to use Consumer AVM reports for its/her non-commercial purposes. Any use of Consumer AVM reports by End User is at End Users sole risk, and End User hereby releases and holds harmless Licensee and the licensors of Licensee as regards thereto. End Users shall not scrape, download, or otherwise decompile any information from the Consumer AVM reports or the Licensees web sites.
The California Condor Restoration Project (Recovery Project) is a multi-event effort led by U.S. With efforts from a number of organizations and individuals, the California condor recovery began in 1992. The program places increasing emphasis on the captive-breeding and reintroduction of California Condors into the wild, as well as the management of this feral population. Captive-breeding this endangered species is one of the best-known efforts in restoring the California Condor.
These birds had been listed as an endangered species in the United States since 1967, and were close to extinction when the captive-breeding program began. All of the 400-plus condors now alive are descendants of 27 birds brought to captivity in the early 1980s, a controversial but successful captive-breeding program. By 1987, the last wild birds were brought into captivity, and only 27 condors were left alive worldwide. When less than 10 condors were left in the wild, it was decided that they should all be brought into captivity to breed.
California condors are at risk of critical decline; they are listed in the 2014 state bird watchlist, which lists species at greatest risk of extinction if no meaningful conservation measures are taken. Condors do not reproduce until age six to eight years, and females only lay one egg every couple years. This years experience with the California Condor Cam centers around the new Toms Canyon nest, which features #462 (male) and #846 (female).
