Members will need to log in to their Emirates Skywards Membership Account in order to spend miles on the Marhaba Meet and Greet Service. Emirates Skywards members are eligible to earn or spend Skywards Miles for purchases made through Emirates official store websites. The values of products featured on the Emirates Official Store website, their Skywards Miles cost, and the amount of Skywards Miles that can be earned from the purchase are subject to change at Emiratess discretion. Retail and Lifestyle You can also earn Skywards Miles for daily spending at partner retailers and services, including Emirates Official Store, Emirates Holidays, Cabforce, Damas, Marhaba Lounges and Emirates Official Store Rewards Heathrow.
If you are using Emirates branded credit cards, you will also be able to earn 2,500 extra miles each night. Both cards earn 3x miles on Emirates flights, 2x miles on airline tickets, hotels, and rental cars, and 1x miles on all other purchases.
In total, the amount of miles you earn is similar to what you would receive for comparable economy or business-class airfare on Emirates Skywards flights. You can use the miles calculator on the airlines website to find out just how much you are getting for the reward for the next Emirates flight. Like Emirates Skywards, how many miles you will receive is based on factors including the distance flown, class of ticket, and membership status.
One of the obvious ways you can use your Emirates Skywards miles is to take flights on Emirates, where you can redeem classic award flights starting at 15000 miles (the value can change depending on class, destination and date of travel). You cannot transfer Emirates Skywards Miles to other frequent flyer programs, however, you can redeem for flights on other partner airlines, like Qantas. Unlike most of its partner airlines, Emirates allows redemptions to be made with the Brazilian currency GOL, which is good for a one-way ticket. Unfortunately, Emirates does not let you redeem miles on any class of ticket besides the Flex Plus, which is the airlines most expensive choice — also by miles.
One major caveat is that you can only use Emirates miles to book economy tickets on JetBlue, which is why JetBlue Mint is not part of the equation. Qantas is an Emirates partner, meaning that you can book flights on Qantas using Emirates miles. Emirates uses a distance-based award chart for Qantas flights, so the farther away the flights are, the more expensive the award tickets are.
Fortunately, Emirates Skywards is a time-tested route to finding and booking award flights using airline miles. Let us look at Emirates Skywards, an airline loyalty program, as well as how you can earn airline miles and how best to redeem them. Since so many of these partners are located in and around Dubai, it may be worthwhile visiting Emirates Skywards site prior to your trip to find out when and where you can potentially earn more Skywards miles. The partners enable their members to earn both Skywards Miles and Starpoints – the loyalty currency of the SPG programs – when flying on an airline based in Dubai to over 150 destinations, or staying at one of the SPGs 1,200 Starwood hotels and resorts.
First-class and business-class passengers, as well as Skywards Platinum and Gold members, can use Emiratess 33 airport lounges across 32 cities. Emirates elite program does not provide free upgrades for top platinum members, either, and its award miles earning features are middling at best. While the new mobile companion serves as the ultimate end-users travel app, Emirates Skywards will be able to leverage the technology to engage more with Emirati Skywards members on the go, offering them the opportunity to exchange Skywards miles for hundreds of “buy one, get one” dining and entertainment offers across 20 cities; the option to book tours and attractions at more than 160 locations; and build out their day-to-day plans and itineraries.
In many situations, booking via Emirates Skywards is the best value, although there are also other options, such as booking via Japan Airlines Mileage Bank (some partner programs, however, have limited first-class awards). In fact, for redeeming for Emirates flights, you can probably find better value if you have miles from partners such as Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, and Korean Air Skypas. Even better, Emirates Skywards miles are easier to earn, with a branded co-branded credit card and an array of different transfer partners including American Express, Chase, Capital One, and Citi making it simple to rack up enough miles for one ticket. For just 45K/90K/135,000 miles for an economy/business/first-class round-trip, you will get a taste of Emirates services for much less per mile than many airlines charge to Europe.
Emirates Skywards Premium World Elite MasterCard(r) has a high $499 annual fee, but comes with a sign-up bonus of 60,000 miles after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first 90 days. Emirates Skywards limits members to purchasing 100,000 miles on an account each calendar year, prior to any bonus. Emirates Skywards, Qantas Frequent Flyer, and Velocity members are able to increase their level of status through earning Level Miles or Status Credits.
